Keyshia Cole Drops Brand New Video, “You”

Keyshia Cole has a new record deal, a new song and now a new video. On February 27th, Keyshia released the visual to her new (And somewhat come back) single “You”. The cut features MCs Remy Ma and French Montana. The trio have already performed the song on talk shows such as The Real and Jimmy Kimmel. Cole has also been promoting the single on radio platforms, stopping by the Breakfast Club last week.

In the song, Keyshia is fed up with her boyfriend’s cheating and lying ways. She declares that she is done with him and all of the baggage that he carries. The video takes this message to the next level. It begins with police detectives (One played by producer Harmony Samuels)  paying a house visit to Keyshia for she has just filed a missing persons report on her man, played by Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Haves Not star, Tyler Lepley. We quickly get the understanding that Keyshia Cole herself is the reason why her man is missing.

Throughout the entire video we see visuals of Keyshia torturing her man as she reminisces about his past affairs. Tying him up in a chair, pushing him off the balcony into a pool and smashing cake in his face. Remy Ma also joins in on the torture as she waves sharp torturing tools in his face. At the end, we see French Montana stuff the cheating boyfriend and his mistress in the trunk of a car.  The overall video is sprinkled with scenes of Keyshia two stepping with a group of dancers, and a couple solo shots.

“You picked the wrong one yeah yeah. You picked the wrong one baby”

Keyshia Cole looks beautiful in all of her scenes rocking great hair, make up and outfits.

Even though the chorus and beat is infectious, the song does not seem to be a very strong choice for a comeback. Keyshia Cole only sings one verse and the repeated chorus on the song, while the second and third verses are given to Remy Ma and French Montana. The video does indeed add a level of interest to the song. Not to mention that the recent beef between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj should definitely give this song and video some fuel.
