Artist Spotlight: Money Ransoms

Money Ransoms is a new artist from Toronto, Canada by way of Jamaica who is on the verge of making a big splash in the Reggae genre. Money Ransom, whose nickname was given to him at a young age for being able sweet talk people into spending their own money – while keeping his, grew up watching his father perform. Surrounded around music his entire life, Money naturally decided to peruse a career in music and was signed to the Kleanstep Movement Label in 2017. With a great team working beside him, he was able to drop his debut single No Need this past February.

The song tells the story of a girl who has had her heart broken in the past and has now lost all hope in building any future relationships. She has unfortunately built an emotional wall which makes it hard for a good man to attempt to become close to her. She is so used to doing things on her own that she rejects any kind gesture directed towards her.

“No need no relationships…she satisfied she can do it on her own”

Even though the song might be a sad tale, the mid-tempo dancehall vibe adds an element of spontaneity in its groove. Money’s pure melodic tone perfectly dances around the catchy bars. Music listeners will admire the easy going mood of the record. It is one of those songs that is easy to vibe to and forces you to cut a quick two step. The accompanied animated visual can be found on YouTube.

Money Ransoms has great expectations for his career and he is definitely someone everyone should keep on their radar. His hard working nature is sure to grant him success in the near future.
